The story behind one of the fastest growing cultural events in America

Our Real-Life Fairytale

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste all that it has to offer, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experiences.”

– Eleanor Roosevelt

A message from ORIGENES:

Hi friends, we appreciate your interest in our company. In early 2021, Martha Llamas, Araceli Duarte, and Juan Garcia, created ORIGENES MAJ Productions, LLC. as a platform to promote and support local Latino artists in the Phoenix Metropolitan area. Together we built a fantastic team of performers and designers.

Our dreams became a reality on May 6, 2021.

Our first show, “Sangre Mexicana por Herencia” or “Mexican Blood by Heritage,” explored the heart and history of Mexican culture through music, dance, and traditional costumes from the colorful past. From the Aztecs and Mayans to the Spanish infusion with the indigenous people, we took our audience on an unforgettable journey through time. Our goal was to truly touch all of the senses with exquisite sights, sounds, fragrances, tastes, and textures. Over 450 people attended this magical, immersive dinner performance.

Our next exciting show was “Mexico de Oro,” The Golden Age of Mexico. This evening featured the music and dances popular between the 1930s and the 1950s when the Mexican film industry reached stunningly high-quality production and economic success. Its glamorous actors, singers, and dancers helped the movies gain well-deserved international recognition, and they began to be imitated worldwide. Once again, the event brought together a remarkable cross-section of the Hispanic community.

We realized that we were on to something special and created “Aca En El Gabacho,” representing the Northern states of Mexico, like: Baja, California, Sonora, Chihuahua, and Coahuila. We featured their culinary art, beautiful dances, songs and traditions. “Aca En El Gabacho” was a reminder of the power of culture to bring people together and create a sense of community. It was truly a feast for the senses, transporting the audience to a different world of color, flavor, and sound.

Our last show in 2022 was “Sintiendo Mexico” representing the Southern states. Those include Jalisco, Nayarit, Michoacán, and Guerrero. It was a reminder of the power of culture to connect people from all walks of life, bringing together the audience in a celebration of the beauty of Mexico.”Sintiendo Mexico” was a moving experience that left the audience feeling inspired, uplifted, and connected to the rich culture and heritage of the Southern states of Mexico. After this show, ORIGENES took one full year off to mourn the passing of Juan Garcia.

Juan was our heart, our soul, and our light. To create these shows was his dream, be we needed time to heal. In his honor, we will continue in 2023 and beyond, to dive even deeper into our creative resources and produce entertaining and educational events to thrill and engage the American and Latino communities. We will keep his memory alive, educate and entertain thousands of people and share our beautiful cultural heritage. Look for our next show, coming in the following months.

We deeply appreciate your support.

Learning about other cultures can help us understand ourselves better. It can inspire us see our own past from a new perspective and question many of our our assumptions.
